The film is directed by Arun Matheswaran and is loosely adapted from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s 1917 novel Devdas, reworked as a Tamil-language romantic action thriller with a darker, contemporary setting.
DC is produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures and released in theatres on August 7 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions.
