IMA Doctors’ Service Goes Beyond Clinics – Dr. Anupam Takalkar

“IMA Connect” is a unique social initiative by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar branch, aimed at reaching out with healthcare services to underprivileged citizens who are unable to visit doctors due to various reasons.

Under this initiative, medical services have already been provided at Matoshree Old Age Home, Bhagwan Baba Orphanage, and residential centers for specially-abled children. The fourth edition of this noble effort was recently conducted at the Bafna Blind School.

The objective of this initiative is not only to offer free health check-ups but also to instill a positive and inspiring outlook on life.

An inspiring session was conducted by Mr. Babasaheb Thombre, a visually impaired State Tax Inspector (GST Department), who motivated the students with his journey.

He said,

“Where you come from matters less than where you can reach. Dream big!”

His words left a lasting impression on the hearts of the students.

During this event, visually challenged students underwent free medical checkups.

Doctors also delivered a powerful message by visiting the school premises themselves—emphasizing that healthcare must reach even the most marginalized sections of society.

In addition, tree plantation was conducted, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Dr. Anupam Takalkar, President of IMA Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, said:

“IMA Connect is a project born out of our sense of social responsibility. This initiative allows us to fulfill our pledge to deliver medical care to the last person in society. The experience at the Blind School was truly heart-touching.”

Dr. Yogesh Lakkas, Secretary, added:

“Such initiatives will continue in the future, especially in rural areas and among the specially-abled.”

IMA’s work truly lives up to its motto: Caring Beyond Clinics.
