By India’s selectors are set to pick the Test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, with the fitness of Ravindra Jadeja a central issue heading into the meeting.
Jadeja has been recovering from a tennis elbow injury suffered during IPL 2026, and no official word has come yet on his fitness timeline.
Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness is also under scrutiny. Both all-rounder and pacer were absent for India’s one-off Test against Afghanistan.
Even with the uncertainty, Jadeja is expected to be in contention for a recall, given how valuable his all-round skills are on Sri Lankan pitches.
The two-match series opens with the first Test in Galle on August 15, before moving to Colombo for the second Test starting August 23.
India enter the series in fifth position in the World Test Championship standings.
