By Eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra are under a red alert, with the India Meteorological Department warning of extremely heavy rainfall.
Isolated areas could receive rainfall exceeding 204.5mm, while the broader region is likely to see between 115.6mm and 204.4mm.
The IMD has warned of flash floods, overflowing rivers and localized infrastructure damage as a result.
The rain is linked to a well-marked low-pressure area over southeast Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh, along with an upper-air cyclonic circulation.
A separate cyclonic circulation persists over the northwest Bay of Bengal, and a western disturbance continues to affect Jammu and Kashmir.
Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds have also been forecast across several states, with advisories issued for residents and farmers.
