By Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand are under a red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department, which expects very heavy rainfall over the next two days.
The IMD has also forecast widespread rain over Ladakh for the rest of the week.
Wind speeds could reach up to 80 kmph in parts of these regions, which the department said could lead to uprooted trees and power outages.
Traffic disruptions and waterlogging in low-lying areas are also expected as the rain continues.
Hilly states have been cautioned about the risk of landslides and rivers rising suddenly due to the ongoing rainfall.
