By Chrissy Varughese, an Italian woman married into an Indian family, has seen her Instagram video describing three cultural experiences go viral.
She said her plate was refilled repeatedly even after telling her hosts she was full, calling it typical of how Indian households make sure guests never go hungry.
She also pointed to kitchen etiquette, noting that Indian families preferred she relax rather than help with cooking or serving, in contrast to common practice in Italy.
A third observation involved directness, with family members openly commenting on her appearance, clothing and makeup, which she initially thought signalled displeasure before understanding it as affection.
The video has drawn millions of views, with many commenters praising Indian hospitality and explaining that the directness she noted comes from genuine care.
